Destroying the Sword A creature attuned to both the Eye of Vecna and the Hand of Vecna can use the Wish property of those combined artifacts to unmake the Sword of Kas The creature must cast the Wish spell and make a Charisma check contested by the Charisma check of the sword The sword must be within 30 feet of the creature, or the spell fails Bastard sword is kind of a recent term In some ways, so is longsword They were typically just called "swords" in the middle ages and renaissance The traditional latemedieval longsword is the same thing as a bastard sword, in that it could be used onehanded or two handed There is no difference in that case During the reign of 35 we had the katana as a weapon, which was just a bastard sword (which I have no problem with as we'll see) Lastly, homebrew, that relative we all side eye at reunions, I'm not opposed to homebrew at all, but wary of balance issues In the end, I decided on lots of reskinning, and a bit of homebrew
